I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
